Special Fundraising Golf Tournament

Hey everyone,

When I returned from my trip to California, I came upon some bad news. We have friends that go to our church who are in their early 20's that have two little daughters, one named Natalie, and the other, Lexie. Natalie was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia in December of 2008. Through many months of treatment and having to relocated to Gainesville, Natalie's cancer went into remission and she was able to come home in May.

Everything was going well, Jason and Chelsea went back to work, Natalie went back to daycare, and Lexie was born in August. Jason and Chelsea took Natalie to her monthly checkup in Gainesville on September 21 only to find out that her platelet count had dropped well below the normal level. The doctor informed them that Natalie's cancer had returned. This time it meant Natalie would have to go through another round of chemo and then a bone marrow transplant, which meant relocation to Gainesville again.

Natalie has currently finished her chemo and is waiting for the cancer to go into remission again so she can proceed with her transplant. Jason and Chelsea are both jobless and have many expenses.
With all the stress and many bills to pay, I personally ask each and everyone of you for your help. I will be conducting a golf tournament to be played on November 7, 2009, at 1 p.m. at Jefferson Country Club to raise funds for Natalie and her family. 100% of the funds raised will go to the Eades family during their long fight against cancer.

The format of the tournament will be a four man scramble, eighteen teams, with first, second, and third place recognition. After the tournament, there will be a dinner with a PowerPoint presentation that will show just a glimpse of what Natalie goes through during her fight. A homemade cake auction will also take place during the dinner.

The costs of the golf tournament will be $50 per person or $200 per team. Dinner is included at no charge; however, a donation is appreciated. RSVP for the tournament and dinner is required by 5 p.m. November 4.

The tournament will fill up quickly and I can't guarantee a spot without the entry fee. However, if you would like to help, there are many other ways.

Sponsorships for the tournament are available for $100, with recognition in the paper and on my Web site.

Donations to the tournament are much appreciated and can be made to: Glen Bishop's Charity Fund - for Natalie. As I said before, 100% of the funds raised will go to Natalie and her family.

I also ask everyone to pray daily for Natalie and all the other children who are fighting for their lives with every breath. We should appreciate how lucky we are to wake up every morning. God has blessed all of us with so much that we take advantage of daily.

If you have any questions, comments, donate to the tournament, participate, and/or come to the dinner, please contact me at 850-508-4536, or email me at benjaminglenbishop@gmail.com.

Checks can be mailed to:

Monticello, FL 32344

Or they can be dropped off at Capital City Bank, Jefferson County Sheriffs Office, or Monticello Milling Company.

I ask everyone to look down deep and do whatever they can to help this child in need. I know times are hard, but they could be worse. Like Brother David Walker said Sunday, "The storms in life only last a little while..."

Thank you all again so much!

Your friend,

Glen Bishop
