A very successful event

I recently competed in the Monday Qualifier for the South Georgia Classic with the Nationwide Tour. I had played three practice rounds and walked out all the distances on the course. Chad Bass donated his time and caddied for me in return for a steak dinner at Longhorns.

I had an early tee time, 8:00 AM, on Monday Morning. So I did the usual and woke up too early and anxiously awaited for my tee time. I picked up Chad and headed to Chick-fil-a. We arrived at the course and I did my usual warm up and putted a while.

At 8 o'clock I went to the box and tee'd off. To make a long story short, I played extremely well but could not make a putt. I hit 15 out of 18 greens which is 18% better than the current PGA Tour Professional Statistics and hit 12 out of 14 greens which is 9.5% better than the current PGA Tour Professional Statistics. I feel so good about those results. However, the reason I did not make the cut was my putting was not working for me. My usual putting average is 28 putts per round. My putts during the event was 39, which is terrible for me. Usually putting is the stronger part of my game, but it just didn't work for me Monday.

A lot of good came from this, though. I am confident that I have the ball striking ability to continue competing and improving. I played with a 28 year old who has played Nationwide Tour golf for 3 years along with 5 years of mini tour and Hooters Tour golf. I matched him shot for shot, except for the putts. My driving distance and iron accuracy was even with his and on occasion better. I am extremely excited about this and hope you can see that the ability to continue onward is there.

Please look at my events tab on www.golfingwithglen.com as some new big events have been added. I have also added some new pictures and other things to the site, so feel free to look around.

I am conducting the Sheriffs Tournament on May 1st at Jefferson Country Club. We still need individuals and teams. If you know of anyone who maybe interested, please let them know about it or contact me for more information.

On a sad note, it is with a heavy heart that I inform you that my little friend, Natalie Eades, lost her battle with cancer on March 26, 2010. She has finally earned her wings in Heaven and is experiencing her new life completely healed. I ask that you continue to remember her family in your prayers.

Again, thanks to all my sponsors and followers for the continual support!
